Panasonic Partnerships Make the World, And the Galaxy, Go ‘Round
January 7th, 2020
A squad of New Order Stormtroopers on patrol burst into the Panasonic conference room looking for Resistance spies, only to move along empty handed. Their mission successful, popular astromech droid BB-8 rolled onto stage to meet his partner who invited us to be the spark that ignites the good in the galaxy. This live-action demonstration was just a small sample of the type of experience guests can have at Disney’s Star Wars Galaxy Edge, and Panasonic is proud to be the official 4K laser projection technology of Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts.
Partnerships Abound for Panasonic at CES 2020
At the conference, Panasonic announced automotive partnerships with Klipsch Group, Tropos Motors, and the Utah Department of Transportation.
“We don’t have to have partnerships, but if we’re going to have a partnership, we want it to be [with] someone who shares our values of performance and experience and [cares about] the way they treat their employees,” said Paul Jacobs, president/CEO, Klipsch Group. “We found that of all the car companies, of all the suppliers who ever talked with us, Panasonic’s [values] lined up with us perfectly. I believe that we can bring something very special to the in-car experience.” Klispch joins Fender and ELS as part of the Panasonic audio partner group.
Tropos Motors announced its innovative compact electric utility vehicles, which enable quieter operation without sacrificing power or mobility. Tropos Motors CEO John Bautista introduced a fully-functional fire truck that is 6.5-feet tall with a 12.5-foot turning radius. This vehicle can go into spaces where regular fire vehicles cannot—and comes at a much more affordable price.
Additionally, Panasonic is entering the OLED TV arena in 2020 with its flagship TV that features a custom-made master HDR professional OLED dish and panel that can achieve better peak and average brightness levels that other OLEDs on the market can’t, according to the company.
Other announcements from Panasonic included everything from being the first UL-certified e-bike system in North America to partnering with Princess Cruises and providing 4K projection technology for its ships to announcing Panasonic being chosen as the official camera sponsor of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which was announced by Olympic swimming champion Michael Phelps. Innovative truly wireless headphones from Panasonic and Technics were also discussed, featuring a blend of noise cancelling technology.
